First, there was the driving range. Then came TopGolf, the bowling alley of golf that felt like the pinnacle of fun, low-stakes golf.
But there’s a new player coming to town on May 27, and it’s even crazier than TopGolf.
Puttshack is bringing a new, futuristic version of mini golf to Columbus, and it’s unlike any putt putt course you’ve played before. The best part? You don’t even have to keep score.
Yeah, you’re going to like this…
How Puttshack Works (And Why It’s Way More Fun Than Regular Mini Golf)
Puttshack uses “Trackaball” technology to track your ball and your strokes. That means it keeps score for you, so you can focus more on putting the ball in the hole(s)… and/or finishing the cocktail you got at their bar… instead of trying to write your score down with a pencil that barely has any lead left.
The course is made up of 9 holes. Each one is detailed and full of obstacles, often with themes like Beer Pong and Roulette, plus bonus point chances and glowing green circles called “Supertubes.”
These Supertubes give you extra points. They can even help you score a hole-in-one.
No more weird, cracked PVC pipes at old-fashioned putt putt courses that launch your ball 20 feet past the hole and make you ponder the meaning of life. Here, good shots actually get rewarded, bad shots get punished, and there are bonus points mixed in the whole time. So even if you’re not great at mini golf, you still have a real chance to win.

Where Puttshack Columbus Is Located
Puttshack is located right next to TopGolf in Columbus. If you’re asking me, they couldn’t have picked a better spot. Plus, it’s fully indoors, which makes it perfect for:
- Rainy days
- Date nights
- Group hangouts
- Or when you just want something fun to do
Puttshack also serves food and drinks, so you won’t go hungry while you’re competing. There are even tables built into the course where you can set your drinks down while you play. So yes… you can stay hydrated buzzed the entire time.
