The University Flower Shop became part of Christine’s family of florist in 2010. In 2019, the original single story building where it all started on West 11th Avenue with its “original knotty pine wooden flower cooler” was torn down to make room for the University to build their new “state of the art” seven story OSU School of Optometry. From our humble beginnings at 243 W 11th Avenue, we relocated just one block to the South to our new and improved location at the NE corner of West 10th Ave and Neil Ave. in the same building with Adriatico’s Pizza. Ironically they were our next door neighbor on 11th Ave, so their building was also torn down in the process. Although our storefront has a brand new look and modern open concept, the truth is that the shop has been a part of the Ohio State University campus life since 1932. It’s believed that even the great Jessie Owens bought a few bouquets now and then when he attended the Ohio State University in the late 1930’s. Our flower shop is one of the oldest in central Ohio, and our family is just the third owner in all those many years. While somethings change, some things remain the same, like great customer service and our great tradition of welcoming every fall the new incoming freshman class and every spring celebrating those graduating seniors. Watching them grow from high school students just a few months earlier, to finally turning into young responsible adults on their way to change the world. You might think we would get tired of it, but it’s truly a wonderful experience for our family and staff. Many student employees work all 4 years for us. The University Flower Shop is proud to be your “Gift Giving Partner serving Central Ohio. Creating a lifetime of Memories since 1932”.
