Our keynote speaker will be Ryan Manion, CEO of the Travis Manion Foundation. Ryan’s brother Travis, a U.S. Marine Corps 1st Lieutenant, gave his life on April 29, 2007, during his second deployment to Iraq. While on patrol searching for a suspected insurgent house in Fallujah, Travis, his fellow Marines, and Iraqi Army counterparts were ambushed. Travis led a counterattack, drawing fire away from his wounded comrades and allowing every other member of his patrol to survive. For his actions, he was awarded the Silver Star and Bronze Star with Valor.
The Travis Manion Foundation works to unite communities to strengthen our nation by empowering Veterans and families of fallen heroes to develop character in future generations.
At the conclusion of our ceremony, there will be a time for audience members to honor a lost loved one, fellow servicemember, or acquaintance/friend in response to the prompt, “I will always remember …”
This act of remembrance is a powerful and moving part of our Memorial Day Ceremony. We invite you to come and share the name of a loved one who gave their life in service to our country.
