We heard that Chung Chun Rice Hot Dog had finally made its way to Columbus and our ears perked as soon as we heard about it. The food court at Polaris Fashion Place has officially gained a new genre of food, and we got there as soon as we heard the news. “What even is a rice hot dog,” we asked ourselves. We’ll tell you now, we got our answers and were pleasantly surprised by how tasty it truly was!
Here is a little story time for everyone reading this :
At the time we went to visit, one of the entrances to the mall was blocked off and we must have looked confused because a kind man approached us and said, “that’s blocked off, where are you headed?” We then replied and said, “we are actually looking for Chung Chun Rice Hot Dog,” and he said, “Oh, you have to try the one with the spicy cheeto dust on the outside – it’s that way!” So of course, that is exactly what we did. Thank you, kind sir outside of Forever 21.

When you walk up, you’ll place your order at the touch screen and wait for a text to alert you that your rice hot dog is ready! You can pick the type of cheese you want on the inside, the type of sausage, as well as the toppings you’d like on the outside. To our surprise, Chung Chun’s rice hot dogs are much like a typical corn dog – but made with rice flour batter instead. The rice flour batter makes for a divinely crunchy and chewy texture, and we were obsessed. We were taken back by the amount of melty cheese that was on the inside, but for some people – that’s no problem at all 😉 The spicy cheeto dusting gave it a perfect bite!
There’s a small section of seating attached to Chung Chun Rice Hot Dog, as well as plenty of seating in the food court. We ended up taking our rice hot dog on the road; we should warn you that it can be messy depending on which one you order!
We’ve never had Korean Street Food quite like this, and are looking forward to trying out more from the menu at Chung Chun Rice Hot Dog.
