Columbus is home to plenty of great cuisines that have roots tracing back to hundreds of countries across the globe, so it’s only natural that some of our food is super unique.

But DiCarlo’s Pizza is certainly a stand-out case when talking about weird food.

What’s so unusual about a pizza? Well at DiCarlo’s, they specialize in Ohio Valley Style Pizza.

This means the pizza is cooked with only the sauce and crust, and then toppings are added on cold afterwards. Then, in the box, the heat of the sauce and crust allows the cheese to partially melt.

Sounds weird right?

I thought the same, but upon tasting it, it’s quickly become my go-to spot for a pie! I honestly really enjoyed the partially melted cheese on top of a warm pie. It gives the pizza a totally different and unique flavor and texture.

Plus, putting the pepperoni on cold means there’s no grease, so the crust stays crispy and light.

The only question that remains is… would you try this pizza?
