As a budding plant enthusiast back in 2018, Andres Cardenas was having a difficult time finding trustworthy growers that could provide established plants and the knowledge needed to grow them. Why were these plants struggling? What was happening to them before transit? Was there a way to get healthier plants? Andres set out to answer these questions.
Thus, after spending two years working in one of Central Ohio’s most well-known nurseries and an eye-opening trip to Colombia, the idea for BarTrop Plants was born!
With a lot of love and support from our community, our nursery has grown from a backyard operation to a nationally recognized resource for obtaining ethically sourced, healthy, and unique plants. We exist to create a community of plant lovers by helping growers connect with nature and find joy through the care of these rare beauties.
