Sogetsu Ikebana is the art of Japanese floral arranging- creating simple but powerful arrangements, and encouraging creative expression through floral patterns. Columbus Sogetsu Ikebana instructor, Michelle Rogers, will walk you through the fundamental concepts of Sogetsu and guide you in creating a simple but stunning arrangement that shows off bright summer color and texture. This class is perfect for all students, from beginners to Sogetsu enthusiasts alike.
All materials will be provided (though if you have your own Kenzan you’d like to bring, you are welcome to do so), and you will leave the class with your flowers from class to arrange again at home. Your kenzan (flower frogs) used during class will be available to purchase at the end of the program so you can take your full work home instead. It is suggested to bring a box or container to transport your work home.
Please note: The class sample photo below is a sample of the style of Ikebana; specific flower types will vary for the class.
