If there’s one thing that’s guaranteed to get you through the end of winter and escort you into spring, it’s a good fish fry. Whether you are Catholic or are just looking for some delicious fish and food, there’s something about hitting up a fish fry at the end of a long week that is the perfect reminder that warmer, sunnier weather is on the horizon.

Like any city worth its salt, Columbus has some incredible fish fry spots that are sure to make your mouth water and belly full. “Well, Step Out Columbus, where are these spots? I’m hungry!” Don’t worry, voice in our readers’ heads! We’ve compiled all the best fish fry spots in and around Columbus so you can hit them all Lent long!

Lenten Family Buffet + Fish Fry | Church of the Resurrection

6300 E Dublin-Granville Rd., New Albany, OH 43054

Whatever you’re craving, the Church of the Resurrection delivers. Featuring both baked and fried fish, grilled cheese, baked potatoes, mac and cheese, soup, vegetable stir fry… the list goes on and on. You can stop by for lunch from 11 AM to 1:30 PM, and then again for dinner from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM if you want! Oh, and did we mention dinner is an all-you-can-eat buffet? Exactly. This Fish Fry rules.

Knights of Columbus Fish Fry | St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church

Did someone say another all-you-can-eat fish fry? St. Joan of Arc’s fish fry comes with baked or fried fish, cole slaw (with a 28 year-old recipe), green beans, mac ‘n’ cheese, or french fries. You can find them slinging fish every Friday during lent from 5 – 7 PM, so there’s no excuse not to make a trip at least one Friday night this year!

Our Lady of Victory Fish Fry

1559 Roxbury Road, Columbus, OH 43212

With this fish fry, Our Lady of Victory isn’t going to be the only one walking out feeling victorious. Offering a simple yet delicious menu, patrons always leave feeling satisfied. Their fresh fried ocean Perch is perfect whether you get the baked potato, french fries or rice. You can also choose between a salad or coleslaw, with complimentary beverages and desserts included.

2024 Lenten Fish Fry | Saint Brendan the Navigator Church of Hilliard

4475 Dublin Rd, Hilliard, OH 43026

Like Our Lady of Victory, Saint Brendan the Navigator sticks to a simple, yet delicious menu. You can choose between baked or battered fish (I personally LOVE battered fish), baked potato or french fries, coleslaw or green beans, bread and a beverage.

Knights of Columbus Lenten Fish Fry | St. Michael the Archangel

5750 N High Street, Worthington, Ohio, 43085

Ever drive down High Street on a Friday night and wonder why there is a line of cars spilling out into street? There’s a good chance you drove past St. Michael the Archangel during Lent. Their fish fry is a staple, and because they offer drive through, it has become quite popular to say the least. If you do dine in, make sure you try their clam chowder. Take it from me, it’s awesome.

Dates: Fridays during Lent, 5 PM – 7:30 PM

Westerville Special Olympics Fish Fry

130 S. State Street, Westerville, OH 43081

This one-day-only, all-you-can-eat fish fry has been voted one of the top fish fry’s in the city ever since its inception 6 years ago. Feast upon hand-breaded pollock (my favorite fish for what it’s worth), french fries, apple sauce, mac and cheese, and coleslaw. Last year, they sold out at 400 meals in just 1.5 hours, so make sure you RSVP early! Plus, kids eat free! All proceeds go towards Westerville Special Olympics.

Date: Friday, March 22, 2024 4 PM – 7:30 PM

St. Catharine of Siena Church Fish Fry

500 S Gould Rd, Columbus, OH 43209

St. Catharine of Siena offers drive-thru and dine-in fish fry’s on select days throughout Lent, and they aren’t ones to be missed. Dine-in patrons will be treated to all-you-can-eat foods like fried ocean perch, baked cod, fries, coleslaw, applesauce, and a roll. You can also purchase an 8oz mac and cheese for an extra $5. Plus, since it is Friday night after all, beer and wine are also available for purchase. Talk about starting the weekend off right!

Knights of Columbus Fish Fry | St. Patrick Church

280 N Grant Avenue, Columbus, OH 43215

This Fish Fry might just get you the best bang for your buck, as children under 4 eat for free, while children ages 5-12 eat for $6, adults 13-64 eat for $10, and seniors 65+ eat for $8. Choose between fried cod or baked fish, baked potato, sweet potato, or fries, mac and cheese, coleslaw, and desserts.

Knights of Columbus Fish Fry at Church of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal
