While Columbus is certainly known as a foodie town, it’s always so sweet when we receive national recognition for our cuisine and amazingly talented chefs. Like the Michelin Star Ratings, the James Beard Awards are a top honor in the restaurant and food industry.
If you’re not familiar, the James Beard Awards recognize the top culinary talents in the nation. There are over 22 different categories of which restaurants and chefs are recognized, and over 600 culinary professionals vote on the awards each year.
Our distinguished representatives are none other than BJ Lieberman (Chapman’s East Market, Ginger Rabbit, Hiraeth) and Avishar Barua (Joya’s Café, Agni).
The finalists will be announced in early April, with the winners being crowned in mid-June at a ceremony in Chicago. Before then, be sure you show your support for our Columbus chefs with a visit (or two, or twenty) to their incredible restaurants!
