Finding a good restaurant is such a great feeling. In our eyes, almost nothing surpasses it, except for one thing…

Finding an incredible food truck.

For whatever reason, we think a good food truck is better than the best restaurant in the city. Maybe it’s because our expectations are lower, maybe it’s because food trucks are generally cheaper, or maybe it’s because the food is just legitimately better!

Regardless of the reason, we are obsessed with great food trucks. Central Ohio has no shortage of delicious food on the move, but we narrowed it down to the top 5 because who doesn’t love a little controversy!?

Did we miss one? Did one of these places close? Send us a note!

1. AJ’s Tacos

3059 W Broad St, Columbus, OH 43204

The first food truck that comes to mind when people ask me which food trucks are my favorite, AJ’s Tacos serves up some of the best Mexican food I’ve had anywhere. I get the same thing every time, the Quesabirria tacos with consommé, though everything on their menu is phenomenal. I’ve had the tortas, the fries, the nachos… it’s all good.

2. Jetpack’s Burger Truck

2634 N High St, Columbus, OH 43202

While most people don’t think of Jetpack’s burgers when asked what the best burger in Columbus is, we firmly believe it 1000% (yes you read that right, one thousand percent) deserves to be in the conversation. The meat and toppings are all stacked high, unlike many places that tend to skimp out on the ingredients to save money. Not Jetpack’s. Seriously, they’re worth every penny.

3. Halal New York Gyro

3464 Sullivant Ave, Columbus, OH 43204

As a former Manhattan resident, I’ve longed for something to replace my Halal Guys cravings since I moved back to the 614. Well, ladies and gents, I’m ecstatic to share the news that I finally found it. Halal New York Gyro absolutely lives up to its name. This food has exactly what I loved about NYC’s Halal Guys. Plus, the prices are extremely cheap for the portions, so if you’re ballin’ on a budget, meet your new favorite spot.

4. Aloha ‘Aina

200 Granville St., Columbus, OH 43230

It’s not everyday that you can get Hawaiian food, let alone Hawaiian food from a food truck. Luckily for us Columbus residents, Aloha ‘Aina makes this dream a reality, offering up island-inspired fare for us here in land-locked Columbus, Ohio. This hidden gem is absolutely worth finding, especially on a warm night. The flavors remind me of summer in the best way possible.
